Home to 171 World Heritage sites (111 cultural, 50 natural and 10 mixed), RCEP member countries possess global cultural and natural treasures that serve as vital platforms for regional civilizational exchanges and economic empowerment.

The Huangshan Initiative of RCEP-WHCA was also released during the event, outlining three core missions for RCEP-WHCA. Efforts will be made to build a cross-sectoral dialogue platform for resource sharing and cross-border collaboration in culture, tourism, education and research among heritage sites.

The alliance will uphold win-win cooperation via the regular release of the RCEP Regional World Heritage Systematic Protection and Sustainable Development Report under the Huangshan Forum framework.

In addition, global awareness of the value of cultural heritage will be enhanced to promote sustainable, inclusive and high-quality development models for heritage sites.
