Huizhou Weir—Wuyuan Weir Selected as Candidates for the World Irrigation Project Heritages In China

Recently, Huizhou Weir—Wuyuan Weir Project was on the shortlist of World Irrigation Project Heritages in China in 2024 after reviewed and approved by the experts and the presidium of National Irrigation and Drainage Commission. 4 projects in China were listed in total.
Huizhou Weir has a long history, and its main section is located in Xixinan Town, Huizhou District. It is composed of several weirs, reservoirs and canals. Among them,the oldest Baonan Weir dates back 1,700 years, while the shortest Tiaolong Weir has a history of 500 years.
